Full-Time Family Physician Job in Baddeck, Nova Scotia

Collaborative Practice in Tourist Hotspot 

Job Details: Our client in Baddeck, Nova Scotia is seeking a full-time Family Physician to join their collaborative practice and team of four family physicians at the hospital. Physicians may also participate in teaching through the family medicine residency program based in Sydney and/or with medical students through Dalhousie University. Responsibilities include running a family practice office/clinics, providing call coverage, and serving a five-bed emergency room and care for inpatients. Payment structure is through an Alternate Payment Plan (APP) and the range of potential annual earnings is $200,000 - $250,000.

Clinic Details: The hospital serves a population of approximately 5,500 through inpatient, outpatient, and satellite care, houses offices for many services including addiction services, and adolescent services and holds a variety of clinics. Services include acute care, diagnostic imaging, emergency services, hemodialysis, internal medicine, palliative care, psychiatry, orthopedics, physiotherapy, medical social work, nutritional and diabetic counseling, occupational therapy, and laboratory services.

Baddeck is located on one of Canada’s prettiest shorelines and offers some of nature's most beautiful spots like North River where you can kayak and swim. Baddeck is also full of caves, lighthouses, beaches, and waterfalls to explore year round. Ski Tuonela offers snowboarding and skiing trails for all skill levels, so you'll be busy in every season. The bustling city of Sydney, home of Cape Breton University is less than an hour away.

Requirements: 
•       Postgraduate training from Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia or USA
•       Eligible for certification by the College of Family Physicians Canada (CFPC)
•       Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
